Legendary entertainer Joe Longthorne headlines Blackpool’s biggest summer show, The Joe Longthorne Show, every Thursday and Saturday evening at 7.30pm from the 28th July to 29th October 2011.
Joining forces with Joe will be comedian Mick Miller, vocalist Carol Kaye, comedian, singer and all-round entertainer Leye D Johns and songstress Linda McMurray.
The show is full of comedy, song, dance and a chorus of all-singing, all-dancing girls with the very big sound of the Joe Longthorne Orchestra. Tickets are priced from just £10 with a special offer of first child seat free, thereafter £6!
The hilarious Billy Pearce returns with his Laughter Show every Tuesday evening at 7.30pm from 26th July to 25th October. Billy is one of Britain’s greatest comedians and he’ll have you and your party crying with laughter with unique brand of silly humour from start to finish! Dancing Queen takes to the stage every Wednesday evening at 7.30pm from 27th July to 26th October you can enjoy a tribute to undeniably the greatest pop group ever... ABBA. During this fabulous evening you’ll be taken on a trip through the 70s ending with songs from the musical Grease. Other great shows this summer and autumn include The 40th Anniversary Celebration of The Comedians with Frank Carson, Stan Boardman, Jim Bowen, Mick Miller and Duggie Brown, every Friday evening in August (5th, 12th, 19th, 26th) at 7.30pm. There’s also children’s favourite Bob the Builder when he makes two stops at the Grand Theatre; on Monday 1st and Sunday 21st August and The Carnival of Dreams in aid of Donna’s Dream House on Sunday 7th August. Irish country star Dominic Kirwan will have you singing along with some great songs on Monday 8th August and the UK’s top ventriloquist Paul Zerdin will introduce you to some of his friends on Monday 15th August. Carmen and The Magic Flute from acclaimed operatic company Co-Opera will be performed on Sunday 11th and Monday 12th September. Poulton-le-Fylde Band will make their debut with A Night at the Proms on Sunday 18th September. The thundering rhythms made on huge taiko drums will reverberate around the auditorium when the Mugenkyo Drummers arrive on Monday 3rd October. The “wonderfully clever” (David Bowie) and plucking brilliant Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain are back for a night of entertainment on Sunday 23rd October and psychic to the stars Sally Morgan returns, perhaps with a message from beyond for you, on Monday 24th October.
Stand-up comedy will continue to shine at Blackpool’s Grand Theatre with visits from Jimmy Tarbuck on Sunday 14th August who will recount anecdotes and tales from a career that has spanned many decades. Or why not enter the “crazy world” of Joe Pasquale on Sunday 28th August? Jason Byrne, with his inspired and original brand of high-energy lunacy will take to the stage on Friday 16th September. Perrier Award winner Reginald D Hunter brings his American-style comedy to Blackpool audiences on Sunday 25th September. One of Britain’s brightest comedy stars Justin Moorhouse who performed a guest spot on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow live from the Grand will return for one night only on Monday 26th September. Of course summer wouldn’t be summer in Blackpool without the return of the “Master of Mirth and Merriment” Ken Dodd with his Happiness Show on Sundays 2nd, 9th, 16th and 30th October and Sunday 6th November.
