The Russian State Ballet Of Siberia At Blackpool Grand Theatre - 6th to 8th January 2012

Book now for the hotly anticipated annual new year visit of the Russian State Ballet of Siberia with full orchestra to Blackpool's Grand Theatre.

Friday 6th January 2012: La Fille Mal Gardée - 7.30pm
Frederick Ashton’s famous country comedy tells the tale of the love between Lise and Colas, and Lise’s efforts to thwart her overly possesive mother’s plan to marry her off to a rich, unattractive vineyard owner! Featuring comedy, drama and beautiful virtuoso dancing, these excerpts will give you a taste of the whole ballet, including the flute dance, Fanny Elsler pas de deux and the famous clog dance.

Saturday 7th January: The Nutcracker - 2.30pm and 7.30pm
In a magical production, this most famous of fantasy ballets begins as night falls on a traditional fireside scene on Christmas Eve. On the stroke of midnight we are transported to an enchanting world where nothing is as it seems, as toy dolls come to life and an army of soldiers does battle with a gang of mice and a Nutcracker is transformed into a handsome prince.

Sunday 8th January: Swan Lake - 2.30pm and 7.30pm
The greatest romantic ballet of all! This is an immortal love story filled with magic, emotion and beauty. From the opulence and splendor of the magnificent court room to the exhilarating lake scenes where swans play in perfect formation, Tchaikovsky’s hauntingly beautiful music creates a truly unforgettable experience.

Formed in 1981, The Russian State Ballet of Siberia has quickly established itself as one of Russia’s leading ballet companies and has built an international reputation for delivering performances of outstanding quality and unusual depth.
