Always wanted to know how to throw a clay pot on a potter's wheel? Get along to Ansdell Library on Saturday, 26th November 2011

Ansdell Library, who recently celebrated 21 years of lending books, etc. are currently hosting Craft Days.   For those who are not local, Ansdell is the little town in between Lytham and St. Annes on the Fylde Coast in Lancashire before you get to Blackpool.  Definitely worth a visit - there is a station if you don't want to take the car.   Turn left out of the station and go down the hill past the imposing Ansdell Institute to get to the library.

On Saturday, 26th November 2011, local Ceramic Artist Marie Kershaw, MA (who designed the beautiful 'Ophelia' statuette for the ACE Awards) will be demonstrating how to throw a pot on a potter's wheel.   Those who have a go may take advantage of Marie's special offer to take their work away, fettle and glaze it free of charge.  Marie will also be taking names of those who would like to attend her special workshops.

So why not have a go if you have never tried to make a pot before.  Learning a new skill is very good for the brain.
