Hull Stingrays 6 - Fylde Flyers 3
Period Scores 4-1, 1-2, 1-0
Shots On Goal: Hull 41 Fylde 47
Flyers Scorers: Bobby Caunce 2, Andy Clark 1
Fylde Flyers outshot their hosts 47 to 41 on Humberside last night but a disastrous 1st period during which they conceded 4 goals left them with too much to claw back in the latter stages.
A depleted Fylde side missing Latvian Under 21 international Elvis Veldze who had pulled out through illness just before the game, Mark Gillingham, Ric Hulme and Matt Gibson - both of whom picked up injuries at Flintshore last weekend, Flyers were lifted by 2 goals from Bobby Caunce and a third from Andy Clark but resolute Hull defending kept them goal-less in the 3rd period.
Afterwards, team captain Wayne Whitby said: "It was a decent performance for most of the game. a few silly mistakes here and there cost us but its coming together I think. We outshot them tonight so that's a step in the right direction."
Fylde Flyers travel to face Sheffield Senators on Sunday 20th November before a highly anticpated debut at their home rink against Lancashire raptors on Saturday 26th November.
