 20th November 2011

Period Scores: 1-3, 2-0, 1-0

Fylde Flyers ice hockey team failed to leapfrog their nearest rivals in English League Division 2 North on Sunday night as they finished on the wrong end of a hard fought seven goal thriller.

Team captain Wayne Whitby said: "We were short on players as only 12 were available for the game. We were ‎3-1 up and then Elvis (Veldze) and I got match penalties for fighting after someone took a pop at our goalie. We kept it to  3-3 then they got the winner minutes away from the end..."

Sheffield Senators are now 4 points head of 7th placed Flyers although the fledgling Fylde team have games in hand  over all the other teams in the division and will be able to start playing home games now that their Subzero rink in Cleveleys has been fitted with safety netting.
