Support Nicola's Charity Firewalk!

Nicola Rolfe-Haughton is taking part in a charity firewalking event at Mossley Football Club on Friday 1st April in aid of the Willow Wood Hospice in Ashton Under Lyme.  Here she explains why:

"I lost my mum Rosalyn Rolfe (in photo) in October last year, following a courageous 9 month fight with Thyroid Cancer. Now summoning up an ounce of the courage she used I am going to complete a fire walk on behalf of Willow Wood Hospice, where she spent the final few weeks of her fight. Willow Wood is a purpose built Hospice that provides specialist Palliative Care to those suffering with life-threatening illnesses.

On three separate occasions they looked after my mum, the third time looking after the whole family too. The Hospice was designed with the needs of the patients and their families in mind and provides a warm and cheery atmosphere at such a terrible time in everyone’s life.

Everyone who visits Willow Wood is touched by the positive ambience. Please donate to this fantastic charity, which not only cared for and looked after my mum, but also took care of the whole family and allowed us to be there right to the end and at any time of the day or night. It currently costs around £2 million per year to run the Hospice, but no charge is made for any of their services – any donation, no matter how small, will be gratefully received by them and will help them support another family in the same way they supported ours."
