It is indeed a world-class venue - the three-course meals served before the Cabaret shows start are absolutely delicious (but the food in the Deli and the top floor restaurant is great too) and the decor is truly luxurious. The staff are welcoming, friendly and very efficient. We love the Sands own 7-piece Swing Band and always enjoy the shows and of course there is plenty of room to dance.
Tony Benedict, the "Rat Pack" style entertainer is a particular favourite of ours and his show was fantastic as always - even including some expert shimmying - delighting the audience. Tony's version of "Mr Bo Jangles" is the best we have heard.
Sara Creeney, who we have been following closely for several years, goes from strength to strength - her rendition of "Fever" accompanied by the Sands Swing Band was sheer perfection. All in all we had a superb evening out.
Sara Creeney will be back at the Sands on Saturday, 14th January 2012, this time with Mark Porter. Tony Benedict is to return to the Sands on Saturday, 28th January with Lisa Harman.
The Sands has a full programme of entertainment planned for 2012, including their fantastic afternoon tea dances on Tuesdays from 2 pm till 4.30 pm with four-piece band Frontline and optional sumptuous afternoon tea plus dancing.
