Blackpool SandAid In Aid Of Children In Need

We are very pleased to say that we were able to support Blackpool SandAid's special Christmas single by featuring it in our Lancashire Songwriters Showcase programme on 103.2 Preston FM this evening.

"We've Still Got Christmas" has been written and recorded by musicians from around the Blackpool area as a fundraiser for the BBC's Children In Need appeal and there is also a campaign to try and it get it to number one for Christmas.

The download is available to purchase from iTunes, Amazon and other internet retailers at 79p, of which 50p from every sale up until December 31 will be donated to the Children in Need Appeal.

A global distribution deal is also in place, and the song, which has been played on BBC Radio Lancashire, will also be played by many independent global radio stations. It will also be played to the troops in Afghanistan this Christmas on their local radio station.

Featured on the single are Tony Mitchell, Joanna Byrne, Mike Bairstow, Ian Hooper, Rob Bridge, Russ Smith, Nick and Rob Thompson, Mark Arnold, Jeff White, Brian Ball, Smooth Chalk, Emily Adams, Joe Orban, Ellen Millard, Judie Adams, Paul Dobie, Mandi Clifton, Vicky Greaves, Bobby Ball, Black Lace, and children from Carr Head and St Chad’s schools in Poulton.

The musicians involved are Dave Brindley, Andy Flynn, Rob Hulme, Jeff White, Roger Cartwright and Ian Hooper .

The song has been 12 months in the making, and was recorded at West Orange Studios, near Preston, famous for recording Cornershop’s Brimful of Asha.
