World Snooker Shootout Competition At Blackpool Tower

Rocket Ronnie O'Sullivan, legends Stephen Hendry, Steve Davis and Jimmy White and current Betfred.com World Champion Neil Robertson will be among the green baize kings heading to Blackpool at the end of the month for the brand new Snooker Shoot-Out.

The innovative tournament, a creation of World Snooker Chairman Barry Hearn as part of his new era for the sport, runs from 28 – 30th January at The Blackpool Tower Circus Arena.

The one-frame knockout event promises to be snooker at full throttle, with frames having a time limit of ten minutes, plus a shot clock of 20 seconds for the first five minutes and 15 seconds for the last five minutes. The top stars will have to show off their lightning-fast potting skills, with a guarantee of tense drama in every frame!

The top 64 players in the world are all among the draw, and there are some cracking matches in the first round including Ronnie O'Sullivan v Marco Fu, Whirlwind Jimmy White against Ali Carter and former World Champions John Higgins and Mark Williams going head to head. The winner of each match goes through to the next round and doubles his prize money - with the winner to go home with £32,000 - while the loser will have to exit via the walk-of shame.

It promises to be a fun event of thrills, spills and cracking snooker action. The whole tournament is over a weekend and a great idea for a day out for groups of friends wanting to enjoy the atmosphere and see the best players in the world tested to the limit
