Fylde RFU Womens team member, Sarah Hothersall; aka Hothers, has made it to the Top Models UK commercial category 2011 final. After Sarah completed the selection process, a panel of industry professionals have given the winger a place in the final. However, what genuinely surprises people that don't know her is that she plays women’s rugby.Sarah has been playing rugby union for 11 years and is a bit of a demon on the pitch... she is known at the club for her Hug-o-love tackle which she employs regularly when playing for Fylde's Womens team, the Vixens. Her effective tackle technique is starting to become a bit of a crowd pleaser. For Sarah the Top Model competition has enabled her to show that real women can achieve anything,...stating that 'you can eat chips, play rugby and walk the catwalk, also being able to raise charity funds helped with the decision to apply'.
Top Model UK hold a public text award each year, although this does not influence the winner of the final; it is an opportunity to raise money and awareness for Great Ormond Street 's, Children with Leukaemia. Sarah is hoping this year's competition will raise a record donation total. She is now preparing for London 's Fashion Weekend where as a finalist for Top Model UK , she will walk down a catwalk on the 25th March 2011 at a very well attended fashion event.
