STOP PRESS: Tea Dance at Blackpool Library fortnightly Thursdays, 2nd & 16th February, 1st, 15th and 29th March 2012 and it's free (£1 for tea and biscuits)

Blackpool has a new Dance Development Officer - Sarah Hall - and she has hit the ground dancing!

With a wide variety of different events planned, Sarah has announced that there will be free tea dances to be held at the Library in Blackpool on Thursday afternoons 2nd and 16th February and 1st, 15th and 29th March from 2 p.m. - 3.30 p.m.  Entry is free (funded by Blackpool Library from the Big Lottery Fund).  Sessions are lead by Kat IRVING who hosts the afternoon showing everyone new dances as well as old favourites.

This is amazing - there is a lovely dance floor on the first floor (there is a lift) and it's great fun so why not go along and support this event.

The Central Library has recently undergone extensive renovations and there is now a cafe on the ground floor.  Loads of exciting events are planned - for instance a series of talks from local History Librarian Tony Sharkey entitled "Bygone Days" - so check out www.blackpool.gov.uk/libraries
