Report by Dick Gillingham (Fylde Flyers Press Liaison):
On Sunday the Fylde Flyers travelled to Sheffield for a return fixture with Sutton Sting and lost 7-3. Four players were unavailable from the Saturday team and with only twelve skaters available, Flyers found themselves under early pressure.

The score had reached 4-1 at the end of the first period but from there on in Flyers matched their high ranking opponents. Both teams were obviously feeling the effects of a hard-fought battle on Saturday night, but in a superb effort Fylde goals came from Sam Chaddock, after a Bobby Caunce pass, Andy Clark assisted by Caunce and Tom Murphy and finally Caunce netted with assists from Tony Melbourne and Jack Jones.

The game boiled over in the final minute with a confrontation involving newly signed Latvian Janis Grinbergs and Sting's Thomas Jeffrey. Young Sam Chaddock took the MVP for an energetic all round show and an excellent goal.

Flyers return to Cleveleys next Saturday night with a 5pm face off against the Bradford Bulldogs. The Bulldogs were the first ever visitors to Sub Zero to face the Flyers in December, but were on the receiving end of a 9-4 drubbing at the hands of the Fylde outfit.
