Swish For Victory in Clitheroe - 16th September

How about this for an idea to have fun and help a worthy cause at the same time...?

"Girl’s Guide will be introducing clever girls from across Lancashire to the new craze of swishing at a Swish for Victory event to be held in Clitheroe on Friday 16th September from 6pm.

Swishing is the art of swapping clothes, giving girls a smarter, more fun and ethical way to update their wardrobes. It’s eco-fabulous, social and fun and it’s quickly becoming a global phenomenon. Even celebrities are getting on the act with Gwyneth Paltrow and Sienna Miller publically declaring their love of swishing.

Clever girls will be joining us for tea, homemade cakes and some gorgeous eco-friendly and new fashions. Simply bring along at least one piece of clothing, a handbag, or an accessory from that guilty corner of your closet and get ready to enjoy the swish. Of course you can bring as many items as you like!

You might arrive with a handbag and leave with a new pair of stilettos, or hang a vintage frock on the swishing rail and leave with some divine knitwear.

Whether you’re a seasoned swisher or this is your first time, there will be help and advice throughout the evening to make sure you have a fantastic night.

What’s more, an astonishing selection of prizes will be up for grabs as part of an exciting charity raffle to support Women’s Aid. The star prize for the evening is a Martine Wester Crystal with an Edge statement necklace valued at £170. How cool is that?

Tickets cost £5 in advance and £6 on the door.

Advance tickets are available via the Girl’s Guide website http://www.girlsguidehq.com/ or from Sarah Rose, right in the centre of Clitheroe by the town clock"
