BBC Radio 4's "Gardener's Question Time" Coming To Colne Muni
Members of Colne in Bloom have invited BBC Radio 4’s long-running show, ‘Gardener’s Question Time’, to The Muni Theatre.
The programme will be recorded at the Colne theatre on Monday, 19th September at 6.30pm and broadcast on Radio 4 the following Friday afternoon, September 23rd, at 3.00pm and Sunday afternoon, September 25th, at 2.00pm
Tickets, costing £2.50, are available from The Muni Box Office. There are only 200 tickets available and will be sold on a first come, first served basis.
Michael Osborn, Project Leader for Colne in Bloom, said: “As we are in the final of the Britain in Bloom competition this year we thought it would be good for Colne to have this long-running programme broadcast from our town.
“It will give the local gardening community a great chance to put some of their questions to a panel of top national gardening experts.
“I applied to the BBC 12 months ago, but never thought we would actually get the programme broadcast from Colne. I know there is a very long waiting list for organisations and towns wanting to host the programme.
“This is a real accolade for Colne and recognition of the town’s success in the Britain in Bloom competition.”
The programme is chaired by Eric Robson and will feature a number of gardening experts as panellists who will answer questions put to them by the general public.
The programme will also be visiting two local gardens. Knotts Lane Community Garden and Gledstone Nursery to talk about how to get the last remnants of colour out of the garden this Autumn and how to prepare the garden for Winter.
If you would like to be part of the audience or even go along and ask a question, then you can get a ticket from The Muni Box Office, either by calling into the Albert Road facility or by ringing 01282 661234.
