See Top Guitarist Preston Reed at Blackpool Grand Theatre Studio - 16th September

Drawing on blues, rock, funk and jazz influences Preston Reed plays the Grand Theatre’s Lawrence House Studio on Friday 16th September.

Reed originally hails from Armonk, NY., but currently resides in Scotland. Widely thought of as ‘the world’s most gifted guitarist,’ according to Total Guitar, Reed’s musical career spans decades and includes gigs with Bonnie Raitt and Linda Ronstadt. His impressive creative output includes 15 (and counting) studio albums.

Most great guitarists would be grateful to create a legacy of classic recordings, stand-out performances and blistering technique, but Reed has gone much further by inventing an entirely new way of playing the guitar. His influence is crucial for a new generation of virtuoso guitarists including Kaki King and Andy McKee, both of whom play in the style developed by Reed back in the mid-1980s.

The phrase “has to be seen to be believed” has never been more true.

Described as a ‘one man revolution’ his unique style is almost impossible to fathom when seen live as he slaps, strums and thumps his guitars creating the impression that there is an entire band on stage with him!

The power and depth of Reed's original compositions are as unique as his execution, as blues, rock, funk and jazz meet, interlock and attack to create a sonic brew quite unlike anything you've heard before.

This is a fantastic, not to be missed, opportunity to see Preston Reed in the intimate setting of the Grand Theatre - Lawrence House Studio.
