Royal Mail is changing the way they deal with items that don't fit through your letter box . . .

Not a lot of people appear to know this so we thought we ought to remind you - from September 2012 Royal Mail is changing the way they deal with items that don't fit through your letter box.   This means that such items will no longer automatically be taken back to the Sorting Office and a note left telling you this.

'Subject to regulatory approval, if you're not in when we try to deliver, we'll leave your item with a neighbour..."

If you don't want parcels etc. left with your neighbours, or if you prefer not to accept items on behalf of your neighbours, you will need to register online or call Royal Mail to inform them.  They will then send you a sticker which you put near your letter box.
