On Friday, 9th November 2012, there was a special presentation ceremony attended by the Major of Blackpool and other guests at the City Learning Centre. Pupils from local schools who had been specially trained as Ambassadors for the Anne Frank Exhibition read extracts from "Anne Frank's Diary" as well as commenting on cases of discrimination in the news.  Three very enterprising young ladies from Palatine put their own lyrics to Christine Aguileras' song "Beautiful" and turned it into a song about stopping discrimination and gaining equality.

Sylvia Lancaster of the Sophie Lancaster Foundation also gave a very moving presentation about the death of her beautiful daughter who was beaten to death because she 'looked different' and explained how she came to create the Foundation in order to Stamp Out Prejudice Hatred and Indifference Everywhere.   You can find the Sophie Foundation on Facebook and on the Internet -

Gilliant Walnes, MBE, Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Anne Frank Trust UK explained the history and aims of the Trust.  In the 26 years the exhibition has been touring this is the first time it has been in Blackpool.
