The Peak District Food & Drink Festival, running from 17th March until 1st April is an initiative that is intended to facilitate the showcasing of high quality local produce available at a variety of food and drink establishments – hotels, restaurants, pubs/cafes, tea rooms, farm shops, breweries – from the Derbyshire Dales, High Peak, Staffordshire Moorlands and East Staffordshire.
The festival fortnight will offer a superb opportunity for visitors and locals alike to sample the diverse treats on offer and benefit from the special offers available during the festival period. The highlight of the festival fortnight will be the Junior Master Chef competition, sponsored by Tideswell School of Food.
Heats will run throughout the fortnight and culminate in the final cook off to be held at the Peak District Food & Drink Fair 31st March and 1st April at the Devonshire Dome, Buxton. The Food & Drink Fair at the Dome will be open from 10 am – 4 pm on Saturday, 31st March. There will be live music with a superb band at the Dome from 6pm until late on the Saturday. Sunday’s opening times are 11 am till 4 pm.
During the festival fortnight participating establishments will be hosting their own small events and promotions including: special menus, demonstrations, tasting sessions, special offers, brewery tours and prize draws/competitions. These will be included in a special festival brochure.
