Historic ice hockey team the Blackpool Seagulls make a welcome return to the ice after a break of almost 20 years on Saturday 25th February when they take on the UK Firefighters Ice Hockey team in a charity match.
The team has been reformed by a group of former Seagulls players from the 1980s following the opening of the new Sub Zero ice rink on Cleveleys promenade and, bolstered by an enthusiastic group of younger players, will now be playing regular challenge matches against other recreational teams.
The Firefighters game on 25th February will raise money for two charities: "Children With Cancer" and "Help For Heroes" and Barclays Bank have kindly offered to match pound for pound all funds raised on the day.
