Billingham Stars took 4 points from their two leagues games over the weekend to close the gap at the top of the Moralee Conference.
They won 4-3 away at Manchester Minotaurs on Saturday evening and then beat Sheffield Spartans 3-2 at home on Sunday night.
In the other Moralee game of the weekend, Whitley Warriors came back from 3-0 down after 2 periods to beat Blackburn Hawks 4-3 and stay in 3rd place.
In the big game in the Laidler Conference (N2) on Sunday, Coventry Blaze picked up a sensational w4-6 win away at Nottingham Lions. That win sees the Blaze move up into 3rd place - just one point behind 2nd placed Solihull Barons and the Lions drop down into 4th.
In the other Laidler game, second bottom Sheffield Senators won 3-0 away at bottom club Blackburn Eagles. They now have 6 points - just one behind 6th placed Widnes Wild.
