Listen Again: Stanley Kaye's Centenary Poppy Campaign on 103.2 Preston FM

Stanley Kaye, who lives in the east of England, had the idea of sewing poppy seeds for remembrance in order to commemorate all who were involved in the First World War.

We think this is a great idea and fairly easy to do - all you need is a packet of poppy seeds - so why not join in?  You can find out more by requesting to join Stanley's Facebook Group "Remembering World War One in 2014 one hundred years" - this is a closed Group for people who want to remember and commemorate all who sacrificed so much during the First World War with honour and dignity.

According to Stanle's Facebook Group member Bob Ecclestone, poppy seeds actually need to be sown in colder weather to do well - they don't need covering up either - just put a few down on raked soil.   Our Gardeners' Almanac suggests that the best days for planting flowers this month are next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday - 17th, 18th and 19th December 2013 so eat, drink and be sure to plant poppy seeds…

Stanley Kaye and his amazing Facebook Group were mentioned on our Best Kept Secrets Radio Show on 103.2 Preston FM last weekend.  Listen again by clicking on the link below:
