"Gone Swishing - instead of only wishing..." - Swish for Victory!

Those of you who regularly peruse Best Kept Secrets will know that we have recently posted details of "Swish for Victory" events.  These are organised by Nicole Morgan and on Friday last we had the chance to go and find out what goes on.  Nicole hires a venue and invites people to come along.

Tickets are around £5 per person and there is a raffle with delectable prizes in aid of local charities. Swishing is a new way of tidying up your wardrobe and finding new to you items.   According to Nicole, the "Rules of the Rail" are:

. take along one item of clothing, a pair of shoes or an accessory/piece of jewellery

. you have an hour or so to browse (and buy raffle tickets/chat/have a drink) before the Swish opens

. once the Swish is declared open, you may take as many items as you wish but ...
please remember we are ladies so no scratching, biting or spitting....

Et voila!

The one we attended was held at kokos in Burnley - a very nice venue, housing a Thai Restaurant and a club for mature people.   There were two large rails of clothes, loads of shoes, boots, handbags, belts and hats and several pieces of jewellery.  So there you have it swishing.

Nicole told us she is hoping to roll the idea out all over Lancashire - so watch this space.
