Ice Hockey: Flyers Look To Gain Ground On Rivals

Fylde Flyers ice hockey team will be looking to pull away from their nearest rivals Sheffield Senators when the two teams meet at the Sub Zero ice arena in Cleveleys on Saturday for what should be a thrilling English League Division 2 North encounter.
Both teams have the same playing record - 5 wins, 1 Draw and 14 defeats from 20 games - but the Flyers currently occupy 6th place in the table and Senators 7th due to results between the two teams.

The Flyers have faced the Senators twice in Sheffield so far this season, losing 4-3 in November and winning 5-2 in February, and will be hoping to make the compact nature of their home ice work in their favour.

Next in the Flyers sights will be 5th placed Bradford Bulldogs who currently have a 3 point advantage over the Flyers but have played 5 more games.

Fylde have played all their games against the Bulldogs from this season, winning both home games and losing both away games, but with 2 home games to come against Sheffield, 2 home enounters with Flintshire Freeze, home and way clashes with Sutton Sting and then an exciting last dash weekend on 14th /15th April at home to Hull and away to bottom club Lancashire Raptors, there's still lots to look forward to in this exciting first season of ED2N ice hockey on the Fylde Coast.
