West Cheshire League Division 2 - Ashville Reserves 2- Helsby 2

Ashville Reserves held top of the table Helsby to a 2-2 draw but this point probably feels more like a defeat as they were leading 2-1 with just 5 minutes to go.

As we were visiting the Wirral for a few days, we thought we'd go and check out Ashville FC for the first time.

There is lots of room to park as they have their own car park (which even overlooks the pitch so you don't have to get out of your car to watch the action...) and there is also another large parking area close by - shared with Wallasey Rugby Union Club - and more street parking around the surrounding industrial estate.

The club house has a large bar / social room with large screen TV and they regularly show big televised games.  As well as the bar, they also sell teas, coffees, hot dogs and burgers and, although we didn't sample any on this occasion, they did smell very nice - unlike some places you can go to...!  The toilets were well appointed and clean and tidy and the changing room block looked similarly well- built and looked after - from the outside at least.

The pitch looks very well tended and there is a small covered area where you can watch the game under shelter if needs be.

Ashville FC has a senior team who play in West Cheshire League Division 1,  the senior reserve side and also junior teams at all age groups.  The venue also plays host to Tranmere FC's Ladies team who play in the Northern Womens Combination League.
