Once again Blackpool is hosting a full programme of events in honour of Armed Forces Week from 18th – 26th June 2011. Just a small sample of what’s on offer include:
19th June Tony Christie at the Opera House, Winter Gardens, Church Street
20th June Flag Raising Ceremony at the Town Hall
20th June – Music for Heroes concert featuring The Heavy Cavalry and Cambrai Band, Jackie Trent, Johnnie Casson, Tony Martin, Claire Byrne, Lee Brady and many more, at the Opera House in the Winter Gardens – this is free but you must collect tickets beforehand from the Tourist Information Centre in Clifton Street or from the Winter Gardens Box Office on Church Street.
21st June Afternoon Tea Dance at the Sands Venue, Promenade £9.95 live band and old-fashioned afternoon tea
22nd June – Afternoon Tea Dance in the Empress Ballroom at the Winter Gardens. Tickets £4 – keyboard and tea and biscuits or cake
22nd June – Afternoon Tea Dance at the Tower Ballroom £9.95
23rd June - Miss Blackpool Beauty Competition - members of the armed forces judge heat 1. Free admission - Coco Night Club, Corporation Street, Blackpool 9pm.
24th June – Gala Dinner at the Norbreck Castle Hotel
25th June - Cadets in the Park – It’s a Knockout style competition from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
25th June - Gala Dance in the Tower Ballroom
