Girls Get Moving week, part of the Positive Futures programme, which is run by young people’s charity Catch 22, will be held at Pendle Leisure Centre, Crown Way, Colne, on Wednesday, 27 October.
The programme aims to inspire girls to get back into physical activity and help to support the Government’s drive to tackle youth crime; particularly the rise in girl-related underage drinking.
Girls can enjoy trampolining, badminton, street dance, dodge ball, spinning, bums and tums and a ‘girls get grooving’ workout between 11am and 3pm.
This one-day only event will help girls to learn new skills, be physically active and have fun!
Lucy Cowgill, Project Co-ordinator for Pendle Leisure Trust’s Sports Development Unit, says: “This day is a great opportunity for women in Pendle, regardless of age or ability, to try something that is new, physically active and fun.
“We would like to thank our partners, Positive Futures, StreetGames, Lancashire Sport Partnership and Pendle Leisure Centre for providing funding and resources to support the day.”
Some of the activities have age restrictions on them, so please call Pendle Sports Development Unit for further information, on 01282 661225 or emailsayproject@pendlesportsdevelopment.co.uk.
