Ashville FC v Buckley Town Double Header

Anyone who wasn’t there missed a feast of football this afternoon at Ashville Football Club in Wallasey as they hosted a double header encounter with Buckley Town of the Cymru Alliance.

The first game saw a 3-1 win for Ashville, which was closely fought and highly entertaining throughout. There was a penalty in each half and the result was only made certain by a late goal for Ashville in the dying minutes.

The second game was not quite so close but still well contested by both sides.  The visitors came away with a 0-4 win with two goals in each half.  The achievement was all the more creditable as they played with only 10 men for much of the game, having had a player sent off midway through the first half due to an unsavoury incident.

Ashville FC are at home again on Tuesday evening with a friendly game against Welsh Premier League side Nomads FC  from Connahs Quay and then again on Saturday 1stAugust when they play Llay Welfare FC from Wrexham who play in the Welsh National League.
