LIFEBOAT OPEN DAY AND SUMMER FAIR - ST. ANNES, LANCASHIRE, SUNDAY 14th AUGUST 2011

With the threatened closure of many of our Coastguard Stations, it is now more vital than ever to support the Lifeboats. The Royal National Lifeboat Institute, the charity that saves lives at sea, provides a 24-hour lifesaving service through over 230 stations around the coast of the UK and the Republic of Ireland. Our lifeboat service is unique (showing some friends from Portugal around the St. Annes Station, they were amazed as they have nothing like it in Portugal) receives no Government funding. As a charity, the RNLI relies entirely on public support to carry on saving lives at sea and costs an average of £398,000 a day to run.

The St-Annes-on-the-Sea, Lancashire RNLI Station at St. Annes Boathouse, South Promenade (near St. Annes Baths and Boating Lake) are holding an Open Day and Summer Fair on Sunday, 14th August 2011.
