'The Three Queens' visit to the River Mersey over the end of May Bank Holiday weekend

The Wirral Peninsula, nestling between the Rivers Dee and Mersey in the north west of England, is surely one of the UK’s best kept secrets.   Over the end of May Bank Holiday weekend 2015 the River Mersey will be host to the Cunard ships known as the ‘Three Queens’ – Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria.  The ships will meet up on the River Mersey near New Brighton on Monday around 10.45 am on Monday 25^th May and sail together along the river to commemorate the 175^th anniversary of the shipping line Cunard.  Cunard’s headquarters were originally in Liverpool.

New Brighton has been redeveloped recently and now has a beautiful Promenade with a cinema, some wonderful coffee shops and restaurants and a superb ice cream parlour called Caffe Cream.  Further along the promenade towards Seacombe you will find the pirate ship ‘The Black Pearl’ which is made out of driftwood.
